Year one
Weddings, second-shooting, a flash on every camera.
I have photographed people in their own homes for eleven years: newborns in back bedrooms, couples on staircases, grandparents at kitchen tables. Somewhere in the second year I left the flash in the car by accident and never took it back out.
Northlight is the small business that grew out of that. Portrait sessions around Bath, a course called Natural Light Portraits for photographers who work in other people’s rooms, a preset pack that is really just my five-move edit saved down, and a community where thirty-odd photographers show each other unfinished work once a month.
